The 2024 Red Cross Fair is set to take place from December 11 to 22 at Lumpini Park in Bangkok and online via www.iredcross.org. Organized under the theme “72 Years of His Majesty: Celebrating the King’s 6th Cycle Birthday,” the fair honors King Maha Vajiralongkorn’s 72nd birthday, which was celebrated on July 28 this year. Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), represented by Dr. Wantanee Wattana, is coordinating efforts for its prominent booth at the event, aimed at showcasing local products and celebrating Thai heritage.

The BMA booth will be positioned near Lumpini’s recreation center and will feature a display of the King’s portrait, a traditional game area with prizes, and a performance stage. Nearby, a special area will feature Bangkok’s notable goods from six city zones, making local products easily accessible to visitors.

During the preparation meeting, Dr. Wantanee emphasized smooth logistical arrangements for all activities at the BMA booth, including efficient pathways for visitors, food seating areas, waste management, and safety measures. To ensure a pleasant experience, she called for quality control on food sold at the fair, appropriate sound levels, and decorative alignment with the event’s royal theme.

A 10-committee team has been designated to manage the BMA booth’s operations. These committees cover various responsibilities, including fundraising, prize procurement, venue setup, event activities, public relations, parking management, and security. The BMA stressed the importance of streamlined traffic management, safety, and cleanliness throughout the fair, with continuous promotion to attract a large and diverse audience.
