On November 7, Nonthaburi MPs Non Paisanlimcharoenkit and Suraphan Waikon from the People's Party (PCP) held a press conference at Parliament regarding the ongoing construction of a seized luxury real estate project along the Chao Phraya River in Nonthaburi, which had been confiscated by the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) due to suspected links to financial crimes. Non, vice chair of the Parliamentary Anti-Money Laundering and Narcotics Committee, voiced concerns that despite AMLO's order, construction continued, potentially misleading Chinese buyers who may not realize the property could legally revert to the state.

The MPs raised additional concerns about AMLO’s handling of high-value assets, questioning why AMLO appointed a management company with only 1 million baht in capital to oversee billion-baht projects, alleging potential conflicts of interest. They cited cases of other seized properties managed under similar arrangements, with questionable benefits derived from rental agreements at rates far below market value.

Non urged AMLO to clarify its objectives regarding the seized riverside project and prevent further possible exploitation of national assets. The Parliamentary Committee will conduct an on-site investigation to review AMLO’s asset management practices and ensure transparency.
