The 2024 Golden Mount Festival, taking place from November 8-17 at Wat Saket Ratchaworamahawihan in Bangkok, commenced with the revered Red Cloth Ceremony. This tradition, where worshippers drape a large red cloth around the Golden Mount (Phu Khao Thong) to honor sacred relics, draws thousands each year.

The Red Cloth Ceremony, originating over a century ago during the reign of King Rama V, celebrates the enshrinement of Buddha relics at the Golden Mount. Devotees write their names and wishes on the red cloth, following a belief that doing so will bring blessings and protection.
