The Thai historical drama "Mae Yua: The Empress of Ayodhaya" presents an imaginative re-interpretation of the life of Sri Sudachan, a royal consort in the Ayutthaya Kingdom. Scripted by Sirilak Srisukon and directed by San Srikaewlor, the series stars Davika Hoorne as the titular character Sri Sudachan, Thanapat Kawila as Khun Worawongsathirat, and Teeraphat Sajjakul as King Chairachathirat. The story re-envisions Sri Sudachan's life, exploring hidden facets of her ambition, intelligence, and struggles within the Ayutthaya court.

In this tale, Jinda (Davika Hoorne), daughter of Phra Lopburi (played by Songsit Roongnophakunsri), is blessed with both beauty and wisdom and carries a destiny that could elevate her family lineage. Her mission: to restore her family’s royal lineage by reclaiming the throne from King Chairachathirat, a warrior-king. Entrusted with this secret mission, Jinda reluctantly becomes one of the king’s royal consorts, which forces her to separate from her beloved, Wamon (Thanapat Kawila).

Jinda's journey is fraught with complex rivalries among the king’s other consorts, including Chitrawadee (Panward Hemmanee), Laongkham (Sireethorn Leearamwat), and Tanyong (Nopjira Lerkkajornnamkul), each of whom vies for the powerful title of “Chief Queen.” As power struggles intensify, Mae Yua: The Empress of Ayodhaya presents a story filled with suspense, royal intrigue, and unexpected turns as Jinda navigates alliances and challenges to fulfill her destiny.

This series is among the five original dramas in the inaugural lineup from Thailand’s One31 network, airing on television and streaming uncensored via Netflix and the OneD app.
