On November 9, a 29-year-old Indian tourist, Mr. Sreemany Debjit, went missing after slipping and falling at the Na Mueang 2 Waterfall in Koh Samui, Surat Thani. District Security Chief Jirapat Chuchan received the initial report, prompting a coordinated response involving Koh Samui Tourist Police, provincial disaster prevention officers, military personnel, and rescue units. Despite deploying personnel and specialized equipment for high-elevation rescues, persistent rainfall and strong water currents created significant challenges for the search effort.

According to a friend of Mr. Sreemany, they were warned by locals not to climb the waterfall in the rain, but chose to proceed to the top for photographs. While photographing near the waterfall's edge, Mr. Sreemany slipped and fell out of sight. Rescue teams later suspended the search at 6:30 p.m. due to low visibility and ongoing risks, with plans to resume at 8:00 a.m. the following day. Meanwhile, local police have brought Mr. Sreemany’s friend in for further questioning to clarify details of the incident.
