Following the eruption of Indonesia’s Lewotobi Laki-laki volcano in East Nusa Tenggara, the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the Thai Embassy in Jakarta is closely monitoring the situation. Indonesia has closed several airports in East Nusa Tenggara due to volcanic ash, redirecting travelers to use ferry services to reach other regions. Bali’s main airport remains open, but airlines have suspended flights over potentially affected airspace, including all flights from Bali to Australia. However, Bangkok-Bali flights remain unaffected.

The Thai Embassy has been contacted by a Thai tourist stranded at Komodo Airport in Labuan Bajo, a key tourist destination affected by the closures. The embassy is coordinating with ferry operators to help the tourist travel safely to Bali.
