On November 13, Phuket immigration authorities, following directives from the Royal Thai Police and Immigration Bureau, conducted a series of operations to enforce immigration and public solicitation laws. This initiative, led by key officials including Police Lieutenant General Itthipol Ittisarnronnachai, targeted foreign nationals violating immigration and employment laws, with a particular focus on high-tourism areas like Patong’s Bangla Road.

Responding to public complaints about foreign nationals soliciting in Bangla Road, officers conducted undercover surveillance, confirming that several women were openly engaging in solicitation with tourists. Four women—three Ugandan nationals and one Tanzanian—were detained: Ms. Kembabazi (34), Ms. Nancige (27), Ms. Ajambo (22), and Ms. Sangana (29). All admitted to soliciting services. They were charged under Thailand’s Prevention and Suppression of Prostitution Act, which prohibits solicitation in public spaces.

In addition to legal fines, Phuket immigration authorities have revoked their visas and will proceed with deportation. To maintain order and ensure tourist safety, Phuket Immigration emphasized the importance of compliance with residence reporting laws, aiding in monitoring and protecting tourists and residents.
