On November 13, search efforts entered their ninth day for 59-year-old Ampan Klinniyan, who went missing on Khao Sam Roi Yot Mountain in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province while foraging for forest products. Ampan has been lost since November 5, when he separated from his companions without supplies.
The large-scale search operation involves multiple teams, including the Sam Roi Yot National Park, local foundations, and community volunteers, divided into four groups to scour the mountain. K9 search and rescue teams from the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation joined with four search dogs and drone support to cover a one-kilometer radius around previously identified items. However, no new evidence has been found.
Village chief Siri Inprasit noted that drones are being used to analyze images in detail, and a meeting with all agencies is planned to address obstacles and strategize further. Concern over Ampan's health and safety grows as search efforts intensify.
