On November 14, Rear Admiral Suwat Donsakul, Director of the Maritime Security Center Region 3 (MSC Region 3), ordered an operation in Ranong Province to crack down on illegal smuggling. Acting on intelligence from the Royal Thai Navy, officials were alerted to potential smuggling activities near Khlong La-un in Bang Kaeo Subdistrict. The operation involved multiple agencies, including patrol teams and specialized naval units.

During the patrol, authorities intercepted a motorized long-tail boat coming from a neighboring country carrying approximately 460 kilograms of live black crabs. Two individuals without proper immigration documentation were arrested, and the boat was seized. The suspects were charged with smuggling goods without customs clearance and illegal entry.

The suspects confessed to the charges with the assistance of an interpreter. Both the individuals and the seized items were handed over to Bang Kaeo Police Station for further legal proceedings. The operation was conducted under the authority of the 1947 Maritime Law and the 2022 Act on Torture and Enforced Disappearances.
