On November 17, 2024, at 7:30 a.m., a fire broke out in Ban Na Kham, Sri Songkhram District, Nakhon Phanom Province, Thailand, rapidly spreading through several homes. Local authorities, led by Police Colonel Srinakhon Naiwat, coordinated efforts with municipal and local organizations, deploying over five fire trucks to control the blaze.
The fire engulfed nine wooden stilt houses, many of which were decades old and built close together in a densely populated area, allowing the flames to spread quickly. After hours of firefighting, the fire was contained. Seven houses were completely destroyed, and two others were severely damaged. Fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities reported.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause, with an electrical short circuit suspected as the initial trigger. Temporary housing and support facilities have been arranged for affected residents, and further investigations are underway to identify the source of the fire and ensure legal accountability.
