On November 20, 2024, Tourism and Sports Minister Sorawong Thienthong announced plans to prioritize projects for 2025, with key efforts focusing on revamping sports and event facilities. Discussions are underway with Chulalongkorn University regarding the Nimibutr Stadium and Supachalasai Stadium, as the Department of Physical Education’s lease has expired. The proposal involves transferring management to private companies to transform the venues into world-class indoor sports and concert facilities.

For Rajamangala National Stadium, managed by the Sports Authority of Thailand, the government is considering options such as privatization, concession agreements, or public-private partnerships (PPP). Due to the stadium's deteriorating condition, the cost-effectiveness of renovations versus private-led redevelopment is being evaluated. Sorawong emphasized the need for clear decisions during his tenure, highlighting private-sector interest in these projects. He believes that private investment could propel Thailand's infrastructure for major events forward without relying solely on state funds.
