Tourism in Mae Hong Son province has surged, with popular destinations bustling with visitors eager to experience the cool winter air, morning mist, and the vibrant yellow blooms of Mexican sunflowers at Doi Mae U-Kho in Khun Yuam district before the season ends.

A key attraction regaining immense popularity is the Yun Lai Viewpoint in Pai district. This scenic spot offers breathtaking views of the morning mist and has become a must-visit location. Tourists form long queues to capture photos at designated viewpoints, prepared by local operators, despite the lengthy wait times. While waiting, many visitors opt to explore other areas to take pictures.

Meanwhile, the Mexican sunflower fields at Doi Mae U-Kho have witnessed record-breaking crowds. Parking areas and viewing spots have reached full capacity, prompting Khun Yuam district authorities and police to step in and organize traffic.

Visitors driving personal vehicles, including motorcycles, have faced significant delays, with queues at the PTT Khun Yuam gas station extending over half an hour and spilling onto nearby roads. This year's rush is partly fueled by fears that unexpected late-season rains—occurring three to four times—might shorten the bloom period of the sunflowers, motivating tourists to visit before the flowers wither.
