A golden tiger cub named "Ava" from the Chiang Mai Night Safari has captured public attention after the zoo's official Facebook page shared adorable photos of the rare cub. The post introduced Ava as the "younger sister" of Luna, another tiger at the zoo.

According to the page, Ava is a golden tiger, sometimes referred to as a "strawberry tiger," due to her rare coat coloration caused by a recessive gene. This genetic trait is similar to that found in white tigers. The occurrence of golden tigers is extremely rare, with fewer than 50–100 individuals estimated to exist worldwide. Visitors to Chiang Mai Night Safari are invited to see Ava in person.
