Heavy rain in Phatthalung province on November 21, lasting three continuous hours, has caused severe flooding on several roads in urban areas, especially during rush hour. Streets in downtown Phatthalung, including Ramesuan Road, the road near Tammaninivet Village, and the area in front of Pradu Hom Temple, experienced water levels between 30-70 cm, rendering them impassable for small vehicles. Rescue teams were deployed to assist stranded motorists, including a patient stuck in a vehicle on Ramesuan Road.
On the Petchkasem Highway, a key route connecting Phatthalung and Trang, the flooding reached approximately 40 cm over a 1-kilometer stretch near Ban Somtrit, posing risks for small vehicles. Additionally, a large tree fell on a 60-year-old woman's car while she was reversing near Wat Amphawanaram in Thamiharam sub-district. The vehicle sustained significant damage, but no injuries were reported. The same fallen tree damaged a house roof nearby, and local officials quickly removed it with chainsaws.
Authorities have issued a warning to residents in high-risk areas, particularly near the Banthat mountain range in Kong Ra, Srinagarindra, Pa Bon, Tamot, and Sri Banphot districts, to remain alert for potential flash floods and landslides as rain continues.
