On November 9, Somkorn Tonjan, Director of the Meteorological Department’s Weather Forecast Division, informed Matichon Online that while Thailand is officially in the winter season, temperatures remain inconsistent. Northern, northeastern regions, and Bangkok recently saw morning temperatures drop, averaging 20-21°C in the north and northeast, and 23-24°C in Bangkok. However, temperatures are expected to rise again on November 11, leading to cool mornings but warmer afternoons. This fluctuation is attributed to a weakening cold air mass from China, which will temporarily raise temperatures in affected areas.

Somkorn anticipates that a stronger cold front will reach Thailand around November 17-18, potentially bringing a more consistent cooling trend. December through January could see winter conditions intensify, with Bangkok’s temperatures possibly stabilizing around 21-22°C, while some northern mountainous areas might approach single-digit temperatures.

Unusually, tropical storms have continued to develop in November, which typically experiences fewer storms. The most recent system is expected to dissipate over Vietnam without impacting Thailand directly, though the Meteorological Department advises ongoing monitoring of weather conditions.
