On November 9, at 9:30 PM, Thai police, in collaboration with marine and immigration enforcement, intercepted a vehicle transporting 15 undocumented Bangladeshi nationals along a highway between Pattani and Narathiwat, en route to Malaysia. Acting on a tip, officers stopped a brown Toyota with the license plate identified by the informant. The driver, identified as 43-year-old Ismaae Wae from Pattani, tried to evade the authorities but was forced to halt, leading to a search that uncovered 16 occupants, including Ismaae.
Upon inspection, none of the Bangladeshi passengers had legal entry documents. Ismaae admitted to being hired to transport the group from Hat Yai’s Khuan Lang subdistrict to Waeng, Narathiwat. He now faces charges of assisting illegal immigration, while the 15 foreign nationals were detained for entering the country unlawfully. All individuals were taken to Marine Police Station 2, Division 7, for legal processing.
